A Calm Before the Storm

The last line of "The Storm" I believe is a false statement.  I think a better ending would be a calm before the big storm.  With the passion that was described between Calixta and Alcee I don't see how they couldn't stay away from each other if you know what I mean.  And if they keep it up then I think that it would be a really big storm.
They might be happy now but somewhere, sometime something is going to sleep and they are either going to be caught or someone is going to say something and all hell will break lose.

  1. I can agree with Megan on this one. There seemed to be happiness at the end of "The Storm" because Calixta and her family were safe. In the moment it is easy to be happy to see your family, but I think that Calixta is still thinking of the earlier events of the storm. She obviously had passion along with Alcee that she wasn't controlling. I don't think she or Alcee can live with that kind of guilt. I mean to say that people can, and do live like that, but in their moral minds they can't be at ease.Itink that happiness is completely dependent on our moral standings and that is why these characters aren't "happy". The author must be meaning they're all happy because the storm is over.
